Spartek Systems Appoints Mathew G. Schmidt as Chief
Executive Officer
Spartek Systems has named Mathew G. Schmidt as chief executive
officer. Mr. Schmidt has extensive managerial and technical
experience in the petroleum service industry. Before joining
the company, he was general manager for Baker Atlas Geoscience,
Baker Hughes Inc. Prior to this he held various management roles
for Western Atlas International including manager of technology
assessment, director of interpretation, research, and advanced
development, and various other leadership roles associated with
the development and deployment of subsurface measurement systems.
He has masters degrees in petroleum engineering and geophysics
from Stanford University and a bachelor of science degree in
engineering physics from Western Kentucky University. He brings
to the company a broad experience in all aspects of the development
and commercialization of information systems. Spartek Systems
specializes in providing the oil and gas industry with high
quality data to monitor well performance and diagnose potential
problems. The company's center for research and development,
and manufacturing is located in Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Canada.
The products developed by the company include quartz pressure
gauges, sapphire pressure gauges, well head pressure recorders,
and surface acquisition loggers.
